Texas A&M University- Central Texas ID/Library Cards

A TAMUCT ID is needed to activate your account with the TAMUCT/CTC Libraries. The TAMUCT Business Services office issues the TAMUCT ID to:

• All students, including Fort Hood students
• Staff
• Faculty
• Adjunct faculty

Activating Your Library Account

Bring your TAMUCT ID to the Hobby Memorial Library Circulation desk or the North Campus Library Extension Services desk. Circulation staff will activate your Library account and issue a Library PIN number.

Community User Library Cards

The Hobby Memorial Library offers local residents, outside researchers, and TAMUCT alumni the opportunity to use the library through a Guest User Library Card. A Guest User Library Card allows you to check out library materials according to the regular circulation policies.

Guest library members must be at least 18 years of age and must have a valid drivers license, passport, state id card, or military id card. Hobby Library Guest User Cards require a $20.00 refundable fee. Inquiries about Guest User Cards should be directed to the Circulation Desk at the Hobby Memorial Library. TexShare cards (provided by your local library) are also accepted at both the Hobby Memorial Library and the North Campus Library Extension.

General Information

Patrons are responsible for:

• All materials borrowed on their ID cards
• Returning or renewing library materials by the due date.

Uses of TAMUCT Id/Library Card

• Check out library materials
• Multi-media lab services
• Computers
• Audio/Video

Lost TAMUCT Id/Library Card

• Replace ID at the TAMUCT Business Services office
• Replacement fee will be charged
• Bring new TAMUCT ID to the library

Lending Policies

• Most materials are checked out for three weeks.
• Audio and Video material can generally only leave the library when checked out by faculty.
• Reserve materials have special lending periods, determined by faculty. They may or may not be available to leave the library.
• Inter-library loan materials have special lending periods, set by the owning institution.

Online Renewal of Materials

• Go to CTC/TAMUCT Libraries Catalog
• Click on My Account
• Click on Renew my materials
  • User ID:
    UIN Student ID Number + the number listed on the back of your ID.
  • PIN:
    Four digit number on back of TAMUCT ID

• Exceptions:
  • Interlibrary loan (ILL) items may not be renewed online.
    For ILL renewals contact the ILL Office at 526-1618.
  • Library Materials may not be available for renewal if:
    A hold has been placed on the book
    Bills have been charged to your library account

Past due Library Material

• Two weeks after the due date, materials are determined to be lost.
• The following fees are assessed:
  • Minimum book replacement fee of $50.00.
  • Non-refundable processing fee of $15.00.
• University records that will be blocked:
  • Transcripts
  • Register for classes
  • Circulation privileges

Materials returned to the library within thirty (30) days are eligible for the refund of the book’s cost. The processing fee will be retained in all cases.

Library Notices: E-Mail

• Two courtesy notices are sent before an item is past due
• One week past due notice
• At two weeks past due notice
  • Item has been declared lost
  • Minimum charge of $65.00
• Notices will be sent to your GoTarleton.edu email account.

The Library has no obligation to the borrower for the inaccuracy or absence of a current email address. Notices or other correspondence will be assumed to have been delivered properly.
