Technical Services

The goal of the technical services section of Library Services is to receive, catalog and process all library materials. The department accomplishes this in a timely, efficient manner, with priority given to new materials and items requested by staff and faculty for current classes. The department also assists with weeding and other collection development projects designed to keep the collection current and of maximum effectiveness for students. Orderly stack maintenance is another function of Technical Services, so that students and others are able to find needed materials. Staff in this department strive to keep up to date on current cataloging procedures.
