Academic Advising
Undergraduates
Academic advising is a necessary part of the successful and timely completion of academic requirements leading to a degree. Undergraduate Psychology majors attending classes in Killeen are assigned to an advisor by the first letter of their last name. The list of advisors is as follows:
- Dr. Walter Murphy (A-I)
- Dr. Richard Yeager (J-R)
- Dr. Sam Fiala (S-Z)
Graduates
Students accepted into the graduate program receive a letter of welcome that indicates the faculty member who will serve as the student's advisor. A list of advisors and their area(s) of specialization are shown below:
- Dr. Brian Wortham (Counseling Psychology - LPC)
- Dr. Jason Northrup (Counseling Psychology - LMFT)
- Dr. Coady Lapierre (School Psychology)
- Dr. Pauline Moseley & Dr. Joan Strutton (School Counseling)
- Dr. Richard Yeager (Experimental Psychology)
After completion of 15 to 18 graduate hours, a graduate committee is selected by the student. At that point, the chair of the committee serves as the student's academic advisor until the successful completion of the comprehensive examination and all other degree requirements.
